to be honest,
i don't really know who reads my blog.
sometimes i'm surprised to find out who reads it.
but for any of those who know joe foster..
he is an amazing kid.
we go way back.
like summer of 6th grade or something like that.
there wasn't one day we didn't hang out,
play in my playhouse,
laugh,
play double dare,
laugh some more,
and just love each other.
he was my best friend.
joe lived in a foster house around the corner.
but unfortunately, he moved without warning,
and i was left with a missing piece
that took two years for me to find it again.
me and joe reunited when i ran into him in the high school hall
about a year ago now.
why?
why was i so stupid to not even think to share the gospel with him?
i'm so happy.
tons of people are so happy.
but i never did it.
stupid, stupid me.
we lost touch after i moved to college, but talked rarely.
long story short,
missionaries texted me and told me he was getting baptized.
it was an emotional, inspirational, and spiritual week.
i was shocked.
but.. it's amazing.
i went to his baptism
played the piano there,
and my heart sincerely changed.
Joe was never a bad kid.
ever.
he has always had this light about him.
but he had a light in his eyes..
the light of christ.
i'm so proud of him for getting baptized,
it was a day i had always dreamt of,
but never took the first step in asking him if he was interested
because i was scared.
lesson learned.
THOUGH i love him.
and we are so much closer
then we have ever been!
i thought i'd share it because really,
it's a miracle.
God always finds a way to work through people.
and the spirit converts.
xoxo.

ReplyDeleteGreat story. Looks like you were meant to be reunited to experience this important moment in his life.
